Winter Safety – Mail Boxes

Winter Safety Takes Everybody’s Help! Did You Know?

  1. Your mailbox is on the road right-of-way.  This is permitted by the Road Commission as a convenience to you.
  2. If snow plowing damages or knocks your mailbox down, please understand, it can happen.
  3. Road Commission policy is to review and consider for limited replacement value any mailboxes damaged or hit by our equipment.  It’s a tough call and we do our best to satisfy everyone, so we need your understanding and cooperation.
  4. Newspaper, shopping guide or advertising tubes should be located near the mailbox on the same side of the road.  Please help our drivers and keep our roads safe.
